STORY STITCHING

A multiplayer storytelling game

About Story Stitching

Story Stitching is a multiplayer storytelling game for groups. Everyone rolls random images, builds their own story on their canvas, and presents it to the group. No right answers. Just chaos, creativity, and whatever you come up with.

HOW TO PLAY

One person hosts a room and shares the code. The host can upload their own images to the pool — the weirder the better. Everyone joins on their own device, rolls 5 random images from the shared pool, and builds their own story on their canvas using sticky notes. When time is up, everyone presents their story.

YOUR CONTENT

Stories and sticky notes belong to the players who made them. Barabara Studio makes no claim over anything created during a session.

Images uploaded to the game are shared with your room only and wiped when the session ends. Nothing is stored after you leave.

You are responsible for the images you upload. Please keep it appropriate.

game rules

Story Stitching is a storytelling game where you build a story from 5 random images — no matter how weird they are.

Your story needs to follow a simple arc. Think of it like any great story you've ever loved: something happens, things get hard, and someone comes out the other side changed.

Your host will set a time limit! Make sure your story is ready before the clock runs out.

Rolling

You get 3 rolls. Choose wisely — once you're happy with your 5 images, hit Let's go.

Sticky notes

Add 1 to 5 notes. Ideally one for each image, but no one's stopping you from going rogue.

Presenting

No rules here. Be dramatic. Be chaotic. Be whatever your story deserves.

Reloading

If you're a player, you can rejoin using the room code as long as the room is active. If you're the host and you reload, the session ends for everyone. Yes, everyone. Don't reload.

example story

1. Once upon a time...

This is where we meet your hero. Their life is normal — maybe boring, maybe just okay. Nothing special has happened yet.

Forest: Dave lives in a forest. He works from home. He has never left. He likes it that way.

2. But then...

Something disrupts the ordinary world — a problem, a mystery, or a push your hero cannot ignore.

Storm: One night the forest floods with noise. A message arrives that cannot be unread — Dave has to leave tomorrow.

3. It got worse...

Your hero tries, fails, learns, and keeps going. This is the messy middle where courage actually forms.

Mountain: Dave climbs through fog without a map. He loses service, loses sleep, and finds out what he is afraid of.

4. Until finally...

The hardest moment flips the story. Your hero sees truth, makes a choice, or loses something that mattered.

Sunrise: At the ridge, the sun hits his face. Dave understands what he was avoiding — and what it cost him.

5. And so...

Your hero comes back changed — to the same place, or a different one, carrying what they learned.

Village: Dave walks home through the trees. The forest looks smaller — because he is not the same person anymore.

Optional: bring your own chaos

upload your own random images

Add your own images to the pool — the weirder the better. Upload at least 10 so there’s enough variety to roll from. All images are shared with your room and wiped when the session ends.

IMPORTANT:

Please keep it SFW! You’re responsible for the images you upload. Story Stitching doesn’t screen or store user content.
